BA Music: Typical modules include Musicianship, Composition, Improvisation and Phonetics.
BA Sonic Arts: Typical modules include Sonic Arts Repertoire Studies, Advanced Computer Music and Emergent Multimedia Technologies.

Open College of
the Arts
OCA offers high quality HE open learning music courses in Composition and History/Context. All courses are externally validated and are available nationally and internationally.
The Composing Music courses are at 3 levels and of interest to musicians from all traditions including folk and jazz, as well as ‘classical’.
The music history and context course (From the Present to the Past) enables students to develop a deeper understanding of western classical music, its instruments, key composers and repertoire. It also provides a non-technical (and optional) introduction to music notation and theory.

Dean Close School
The internationally renowned Carducci Quartet has recently joined a very strong Music Department at Dean Close School, Cheltenham, as its new Head of Strings. Other departmental highlights include performances of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no. 2, Mozart’s Concerti for Flute & Violin, Verdi’s Requiem, Evensong at St Paul’s Cathedral, a choir tour to Vienna & Salzburg and a new CD ‘O Be Joyful’. The strong tradition of Oxbridge organ & choral awards continues to uphold the 100% pass rate at A level.

Morley College
We offer part-time day and evening music courses for adults, for complete beginners to the more advanced musician. From accordion to pop singing to samba bands, and absolutely everything in between, studying at Morley offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of music. Here you will find courses on wind, strings or brass, folk music, jazz singing, harpsichord and latin percussion, as well as classes on music theory and history. Forest School

Benslow Music
Benslow Music, conveniently situated in the market town of Hitchin, thirty miles north of London, offers a wide range of some 160 short residential music courses for non-professional musicians of all ages and abilities, from beginners to near-professional level, throughout the year both during the week and at weekends.
