Your stay

Tchaikovsky’s best-loved opera features some of his most captivating music, its heartfelt melodies and choruses inspired by Russian folk music encircling its beating heart of raw emotion. Playful, radical and perceptive, Barry Kosky is one of the most renowned directors working in opera today. Rising star Asmik Grigorian, whose performance as Strauss’s Salome at the Salzburg Festival recently met with universal adoration, takes the central role of Tatyana. Eugene Onegin is conducted by Latvian-born Ainārs Rubiķis, Komische Oper Berlin’s recently appointed music director.

Manchester’s Hallé and its music director Sir Mark Elder return to the International Festival with one of Elgar’s greatest oratorios: The Kingdom. Elder has long been a passionate champion of Elgar’s noble, poignant music, and he and the Hallé are joined by four exceptional vocal soloists and the Edinburgh Festival Chorus for this deeply moving meditation on faith.

Edinburgh's UNESCO World Heritage city centre is best explored on foot and the Sheraton Grand is ideally located to discover its outstanding history and architectural beauty. Enjoy inspiring views of Edinburgh Castle from your Castle View Room and make the most of your stay with a visit to their vibrant bar and restaurant, and award-winning spa.
