A Contemporary Christmas
A Contemporary Christmas
Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 19:00
The carol (from the French ‘carole’) has been around for over 1000 years, initially as a circle dance. In this programme, the Music Makers focus on some of the most recent output in the genre.
The first half of this concert will feature world premiere performances of the finalists in the Hazel Renshaw Composition Prize, which will be adjudicated by one of the foremost composers alive today, Judith Weir, and the Head of Choral Conducting and the Royal Academy of Music, Patrick Russill.
