Inkberrow Sinfonia

Inkberrow Sinfonia

Saturday, September 22, 2018 - 19:30

This concert is the 16th annual orchestral concert bringing together professional and semi-professional musicians from the West Midlands to form the Inkberrow Sinfonia and including guest soloists for the major work. Proceeds from the concert go to the Chernobyl Children’s Project charity and to the ongoing restoration of the parish church of Inkberrow. The Chernobyl Children’s Project charity plays host to children and their carers each summer from the contaminated area of Belarus, to give the children a good holiday and help to improve their health, as well as helping fund projects in Belarus.

The Parish Church of St Peter is in need of major restoration including repairs to the stonework and windows and replacement of an inefficient and elderly heating system, and also to redecorate and repair the N Aisle ceiling which suffered water damage following the major theft of lead from the roof. Funds from last year's concert went towards the replacement of the N Aisle roof.
