Kent Chamber Choir - music and readings for Advent and Christmas

Saturday, December 9, 2017 - 19:30

We're delighted to return to Ash during its annual Christmas Tree Festival for a fund-raising concert in support of the village's historic Parish Church. It features seasonal readings, and a wide variety of popular carols and some beautiful new ones.

Included in the first part are those for Advent in praise of the Virgin Mary – the traditional English A Virgin most pure in Charles Woods's delightful arrangement and Rachmaninov's powerfully moving setting of the Ave Maria. After the interval we focus on the birth of Jesus with JS Bach's sublime O little one sweet, Robert Pearsall's classic arrangement of the old German In dulci jubilo, and other gems by David Willcocks and Reginald Jacques.

Don't miss this opportunity to begin the festive season in style with an evening of inspirational entertainment designed to appeal to all and raise money for a good cause. We also warmly invite you to join us in the hearty singing of some well-known favourites.
