Marco Fanti conducts Verdi's Requiem
Directed by charismatic Italian conductor Marco Fanti, three of the North-West's leading choirs combine to form a chorus of some 200 voices for a full orchestral performance of Verdi's choral masterpiece. They are joined by the Lancashire Sinfonietta, the ensemble of home-grown Lancashire musicians hand-picked from the finest professional orchestras in Britain, and an outstanding quartet of soloists headed by Lancashire-born rising star, soprano Laurie Ashworth.
Almost hidden in a modern shopping street in central Bolton, the Victoria Hall is a grade-II listed building dating from 1900, with some of the best concert acoustics to be found in the Greater Manchester area. For those travelling by car, there is free weekend parking in the nearby Topp Way multi-storey car park.
