Oxford Chamber Music Society - The Maggini String Quartet
Oxford Chamber Music Society - The Maggini String Quartet
The Maggini Quartet, formed in 1988, is established as one of the finest British string quartets both in performance and through its international award winning recordings. Renowned for championing British repertoire, its worldwide sales of Naxos’s Gramophone Award winning British Music series exceed 100,000 discs. A new collaboration with Meridian begins with the complete Mendelssohn quartets. Established favourites at the Holywell Music Room, the Maggini (whose name derives from the famous 16th century Brescian maker, an example of whose work is played by David Angel, the quartet’s second violinist) have a great reputation for their Oxford coaching series.
