QC Chamber Choir and East London Brass Band perform Bruckner's E Minor Mass
One of Hertfordshire’s leading chamber choirs, QC, which has flourished under the inspirational direction of Matthew Manchester, is currently celebrating its 20th Anniversary Season.
For this Birthday Concert the choir will be performing a selection of choral works, the highlight of which will be the much loved E Minor Mass by Anton Bruckner. This work was originally written for a chorus accompanied by wind instruments, but for this performance it has been successfully transcribed for brass and QC welcomes the opportunity to perform together with East London Brass in the magnificent setting of All Saints Church.
Highlights of the past year for QC included a return to sing Evensong at Westminster Abbey with a third visit scheduled for 13th August 2012.
One of the country’s leading brass bands, East London Brass, under their equally inspirational director Jayne Murrill, will be performing the Agincourt Song, Marriage of Figaro Overture, O Magnum Mysterium and Variations on Laudate Dominum as well as accompanying QC in the Bruckner Mass.
Recent highlights for ELB have been:
• Championship Section 2012
• First Section National Finalists and Entertainment Champions 2011
• Second National Finalists and National Butlins Champions 2009 & 2010
Tickets are available on line at www.oxboffice.com, by phoning 01992 464808 or on the door. At £10 for adults and under 18s free, this is a “must hear and see” concert for 2012.
