Temple Song 2012 - Miah Persson and Julius Drake
Swedish soprano Miah Persson is in great demand with the major opera houses and orchestras of the world. She has appeared at the Salzburg Festival, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Metropolitan Opera New York, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Liceu Barcelona, Netherlands Opera, San Francisco Opera, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Monnaie, Frankfurt Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Theater an der Wien, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Paris Opera. Miah was appointed a court singer by the king of Sweden in Jan 2011.
“Miah Persson, already having proven the loveliness of her high, rich, lyric soprano as Sophie in a Staatsoper “Rosenkavalier,” showed her versatility in Lawless’ complex concept of Euridice. A Swedish beauty with blond hair streaming down her back, she could be the younger sister of Karita Mattila…Mehta’s voice blended so flawlessly with Persson’s in their brief duet, the effect was a little eerie, as if produced by one divine entity.”
