'Tchaikovsky's songs have turned out to be the beginning of what I hope will be a life-long journey into Russian music, poetry and literature,' says mezzo-soprano Christianne Stotijn, winner of this year's BBC Music Magazine Vocal Award. 'This disc was a very special collaboration.'

Your free download this week is the 'Lullaby' from this award-winning Tchaikovsky disc that Stotijn recorded with pianist Julius Drake (Onyx 4034).

'Christianne Stotijn is that artist in a thousand whose personality shines through everything she does,' wrote critic David Nice last year. 'Her charisma and beautifully recorded altoish depth of tone is enough to hold me spellbound.'

I'm an experienced computer user and have downloaded from hundreds of sites. The BBC's Music Magazine download feature is a complete mystery.

At the moment, no actual download is available - just the opportunity to listen online.
This is not the first time I have had a problem with this function, though the last two have worked O.K. - i.e. the Mozart and the Schutz.
I trust this can be rectified before the download ceases to be 'available'.

At the moment I am listening to the download as a file on my computer. I had no problems, and once I had mastered the minor oddities, I have never had a problem. I am using Interet Explorer: it could be another browser does not work with the site.
