Expressive Brahms from the Nash Ensemble

This week's free download is from the Nash Ensemble's recording of Brahms's Clarinet Trio in A minor and Second Piano Quartet (Onyx 4045). We've chosen the first movement of the Clarinet Trio, a wistful Allegro that leads to the meditative Adagio of the second movement. 

'These are beautifully expressive, thoughtful performances,' writes Calum MacDonald in the July issue of BBC Music Magazine. 'The account of the Clarinet Trio especially impressed me, partly due to the refinement and subtle colouring of Richard Hosford's clarinet playing.'
