Alexandra Silocea is an outstanding pianist. After her debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra in 2008, followed by a Recital at the Musikverein and Carnegie Hall New York in 2009, she was hailed as a pianist with “charisma and musical depth”. Subsequent quotes: a "special talent" (International Piano Magazine), "musical grace and fluency" (Gramophone), an "extraordinary clarity of playing" (Radio New Zealand), "musically tasteful" (BBC Music Magazine). Alexandra has won numerous awards in her native Romania and in Greece, France, Germany, Italy and USA. In December, she performs Mozart Piano Concerto No. 17 in G with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Jurowski.

Born in 1984 in Romania with German-Russian roots, Alexandra studied at the “George Enescu” Music High School in Bucharest (Romania - Prof. G. Enasescu). By the age of 16 she continued her studies at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts under the guidance of internationally acclaimed teachers: O. Maisenberg, J. Marian, M. Hughes, M. Krist and Ch. Berner and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris having Th. Paraschivesco and L. Cabasso among her teachers.

Her debut CD with Prokofiev Piano Sonatas on Avie Recods won rave reviews in the music press (Editor’s Choice- International Piano Magazine, 4 stars in The Telegraph, Supersonic Award - Pizzicato Magazine Luxembourg, etc.) and she is now recording her second CD.
