Sophie BevanThere’s a chance to hear a recital from last year’s Lammermuir Festival this week.

Soprano Sophie Bevan and pianist Joseph Middleton perform a programme of songs for a summer’s day including Barber’s ‘Sure on this shining night’, Gurney’s ‘The Fields are full, Fauree’s ‘La Feé aux chansons and Brahms’s ‘Sommerabend’.

But the opening song is perhaps the most famous song ever written about the season: Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’. Jamie MacDougall presents.

Look out for other performances from the Scottish festival over every lunchtime this week.
