Proms Chamber Music 4: Prokofiev and Schubert

Itamar Golan (piano) will join violinists Janine Jansen (left) and Sakari Oramo to perform Five Melodies and Sonata in C major for two violins by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. Oramo, well known for his achievements at the conducting podium, will be making his Proms debut as a violinist. The Dutch violinist Jansen will appear agin this season, performing at the Last Night.
These two works by Prokofiev will be contrasted with a work by Franz Schubert, the Fantasie in C Major D. 934 for violin and piano written less than a year before his death.
