We have a record number of cover stars in our February issue, with all six King’s Singers gracing the front of the magazine. As the group celebrates its 50th anniversary, founding member Brian Kay meets with the current singers to discuss the past, present and future of the world’s best vocal ensemble. Elsewhere in the issue, we explore how musicians learn so many lengthy and complex works by heart, and Richard Bratby meets the Birmingham conductor Alpesh Chauhan, who has recently been appointed principal conductor of the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini in Parma. Plus, your free cover CD features Brahms’s Fourth Symphony and baritone Benjamin Appl performing Schubert Lieder.
