The BBC Performing Arts Fund has unveiled the 19 arts organisations to be awarded money as part of its Music Fellowship programme.

Each institution will host a fellow who will be given the chance to develop their skills and be given a platform to perform as part of a placement.

The successful fellows include conductor Carlos del Cueto who joins English Touring Opera as assistant conductor, soprano Bethany Seymour who will receive mentoring at the National Centre for Early Music in York and composer Amble Skuse, who will join Making Music Wales to work with community music organisations.

The money for the fun comes from money raised through phone voting on BBC One’s The Voice talent show.

‘We are delighted that the money will be used to support the next generation of musical talent,’ said director of the fund, Miriam O’Keeffe. ‘Working with some of the most well respected arts and music organisations in the UK will not only nurture this talent, but will give the Fellows the experience and confidence to pursue their musical ambitions.’

Other fellows in the scheme include ballet conductor James Ham who will be mentored at Birmingham Royal Ballet, choral conductor Andrew Nunn who becomes a fellow with the National Youth Choir of Scotland and composer Shiori Usui who will work with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
