BBC Music Magazine has launched its first iPad edition of the magazine, packed with music clips, interactive links – plus all the magazine's great features.

The iPad version of the magazine includes links to clips of almost 200 recordings reviewed, recommended or simply mentioned in the issue. So once you've read about a recording you can listen to excerpts and even buy it, all within the app.

The app contains the same great content as the print version – the latest classical music news, interviews with top artists and over 100 reviews. But each and every page is also packed with links: you can listen to clips by simply tapping wherever you see a play button or text underlined (see below). And look out too for links to our monthly reviews podcast, as well as places to tell us what you think of the app on twitter and facebook.

In the April issue of the magazine we interview the brilliant tenor Juan Diego Flórez about life as the world's most in-demand bel canto tenor – and in our iPad app you can listen to clips from some of his best recordings while reading what the tenor himself says about them.

Our regular Building a Library feature is brought to life with the interactivity of the iPad: this month we pick out the best recordings of Schumann’s Spring Symphony – and with the BBC Music Magazine iPad app you can hear clips from each recording, including the one we recommend for your collection.

Elsewhere, in the reviews section, you can hear clips from, and then buy, the recordings we recommend – including the BBC Music Magazine choices and the Recording of the Month.

The app is easy to use and all you have to do to get started is download the free BBC Music Magazine app, available now, and then you can download an issue for £3.99, or subscribe to 12 issues for just £39.99.

And do let us know what you think on Twitter, Facebook or by sending us an email at music@classical-music.com.
