BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists announced for the 2016 season

BBC Radio 3 has announced the latest group of young musicians to join its New Generation Artists (NGA) scheme. The six artists and ensembles come from the USA, Norway, Egypt, Romania, the Netherlands and the UK, and will take up their places on the scheme this September.

The new Radio 3 New Generation Artists are:

  • Amatis Piano Trio
  • Calidore Quartet
  • Cellist Andrei Ionita
  • Viola player Elvind Holtsmark Ringstad
  • Soprano Fatma Said
  • Bass-baritone Ashley Riches

'We're very excited about working with the class of 2016' says Radio 3 producer Emma Bloxham, 'Radio 3 listeners are in for a treat!'

Over the next two years the musicians will have the chance to perform with the BBC's performing ensembles and make studio recordings for broadcast on Radio 3.
