Independent label ECM Records has launched its entire catalogue to all major music streaming platforms.

ECM’s focus is primarily on contemporary, jazz and classical music. As of Friday 17 November, music from the likes of Keith Jarrett, Arvo Pärt, András Schiff and Jan Garbarek is now available to stream on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, Deezer and Qobuz.

ECM had previously been one of the high-level record labels resisting making its content available on streaming services. ‘Although ECM’s preferred mediums remain the CD and LP, the first priority is that the music should be heard’, announced ECM last week. ‘It was important to make the catalogue accessible within a framework where copyrights are respected.

Now you can happily sit back and stream Keith Jarrett’s The Köln Concert from 1975, the original 1978 recording of Steve Reich’s Music for 19 Musicians or András Schiff’s complete Beethoven sonata cycle, on whatever digital streaming service takes your fancy.
