On Saturday 19 July several choral groups will appear in and around St Martin-in-the-Fields and The National Gallery for Sounds Sublime Festival.

Bringing together ten of the UK’s most talented young vocal groups, including Genesis Sixteen, Apollo 5 and London Youth Choir, the festival will incorporate numerous pop up performances and family workshops led by members of The Sixteen and VOCES8 among others.

Aiming to showcase the talent of young musicians while giving members of the public an opportunity to get involved, the festival will run from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Performances will range from opera to gospel and works by young British composers. In the afternoon, a series of concerts in selected exhibition rooms of The National Gallery will feature music that reflects the era of the surrounding paintings.

The workshops will welcome people of all ages and levels of ability and will include advice on vocal technique, choral leadership and what it’s like to have a career in a professional vocal ensemble.

A competely free event, it is recommended that those wishing to attend book a place in advance.
