Twenty-one nominated recordings are announced for this year's Awards
Voting is now open for the 2017 BBC Music Magazine Awards. You can help name the best recordings of 2016 by casting your vote now at classical-music.com/awards
Our jury of expert critics has chosen 21 nominated recordings in seven categories – Orchestral, Concerto, Opera, Vocal, Chamber and Instrumental – from a longlist of all the albums given five stars in BBC Music Magazine last year. Now it's over to you, our readers, to choose your favourites and help name the winners in this year's Awards.
‘The record industry may have drastically changed over the past decade, but the fire in its belly remains, with musicians on the constant search for new ways to thrill and move us,' says Oliver Condy, editor of BBC Music Magazine. ‘This year’s nominations are no exception.’
Voting is open until 24 February 2017.
The winners will be announced in a ceremony at Kings Place, London on 19 April, and in the May issue of BBC Music Magazine. Tickets are on sale now.
All UK voters will be entered into a prize draw to one of two sets of copies of the nominated recordings.
