Which of these pieces best captures the mood of summer?

Honestly, it's none of the above. The two best pieces for capturing the moods of summer are both by Samuel Barber: Summer Music (woodwind quintet) and Knoxville: Summer 1915. Those, and the first movement of his violin concerto. He must have had a strong affinity for summer, as I don't think he ever wrote anything explicitly about any other season, or anything that really sounds, say, wintry, the way the violin concerto movement evokes lazy suburban summer days.
