Renowned for her performances of Mozart and Schubert, Cooper released her first volume of live Schubert recordings on Avie earlier this year. 'One of the things which makes Schubert's music so great,' she told BBC Music Magazine this June, 'is that he could go so effortlessly from emotional happiness to utter darkness … he has a very sure footing going from one emotional territory to the other.'

Radio 3's New Generation Artist scheme celebrates its tenth anniversary this weekend, with Proms performances from many of the 70 musicians who've taken part in the scheme over the years. You can hear all their concerts on Radio 3 over the weekend. First up are the Jerusalem and Pavel Haas Quartets, joined by percussionist Colin Currie, for Haydn, Goehr and Beethoven. Other performers include violinist Alina Ibragimova, viola player Maxim Rysanov and pianist Ashley Wass.
