The BBC Proms 2009 season is almost upon us, which can only mean one thing: eight weeks of non-stop, world-class music. It’s a bumper Proms this year, with over 90 concerts taking place over the course of the season – and with dirt-cheap standing tickets available for every single one, there has never been a better time to enjoy the special magic of being a Prommer.
So why not join me as I bring you all the latest news, reviews and gossip from the Royal Albert Hall? Each Tuesday and Friday (with the first coming this Saturday), I’ll be offering up my top picks for forthcoming concerts, hints and tips on how to survive the tropical RAH atmosphere, first-hand accounts of the season’s highlights, and the lowdown on the trials and tribulations of standing through a three-hour concert in the company of 1,400 fellow Prommers!
