BBC Four presents the first broadcast of Titanic Requiem, by the late Robin Gibb. The former Bee Gee wrote the piece to mark the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic and the piece uses sections of the Latin mass for the dead along with songs tracing the ship’s ill-fated maiden voyage.
The world premiere of the piece was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the RSVP Voices at Westminster Central Hall in April 2012. The Orchestra is joined by singers Aled Jones and Isabel Suckling.
