Sophie BevanThere’s a chance to hear a recital from last year’s Lammermuir Festival this week.

Soprano Sophie Bevan and pianist Joseph Middleton perform a programme of songs for a summer’s day including Barber’s ‘Sure on this shining night’, Gurney’s ‘The Fields are full, Fauree’s ‘La FeĆ© aux chansons and Brahms’s ‘Sommerabend’.

But the opening song is perhaps the most famous song ever written about the season: Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’. Jamie MacDougall presents.

Look out for other performances from the Scottish festival over every lunchtime this week.
