JC Bach: Keyboard Sonatas, Op. 17

CPO has been performing an excellent service in promoting so many musical aspects of JC Bach, the youngest son of JS Bach’s second marriage. These captivating keyboard sonatas, though first published in 1774, were probably composed in the 1760s. Harald Hoeren, who has chosen a pleasing-sounding fortepiano for each of them, plays with expressive warmth, clarity and lively spirit. Nicholas Anderson
