Richard EgarrThe orchestral and choral forces of the Academy of Ancient Music come together to celebrate the end of its season, performing a programme of French Baroque live from London's Wigmore Hall. Richard Egarr directs Lully's sacred De profundis, Charpentier's light-hearted Sonate à huit, and music by Marais. All three composers were keen favourites at the court of the 'Sun King', Louis XIV. Louis was a generous patron of the arts, bringing about a golden age in French Baroque.
