Three years after the first Military Wives Choir burst onto our TVs, choirmaster Gareth Malone encourages a brand new ensemble of amateur singers to take on the challenge of learning and preforming a classical repertoire.

This two-part series, which concludes on Christmas Eve, follows the choir’s development from auditions, all the way to performing at the Royal Albert Hall. Sharing the stage with the National Theatre’s production of War Horse, the Military Wives perform works such as Holst’s Ave Maria and a setting of Tennyson’s poem Home They Brought Her Warrior Dead, to commemorate 100 years since the start of the First World War.
