Donald Macleod explores the life and music of Czech composer, teacher and folklorist Leoš Janáček, whose skill as a composer was not fully recognised until in his sixties.

In a five-part series, Macleod introduces a number of the composer’s most prolific works, including his well known opera The Cunning Little Vixen, which was inspired by an undying and unrequited love for the married Kamila Stösslová, and which put Janacek’s name firmly on the map.
