The National Centre for Early Music’s 2013 Young Composers’ Award
Ashley Solomon, director of Baroque group Florilegium, joins presenter Lucie Skeaping to look at the history of the Baroque dance suite.
They discuss the genre in the context of the launch of the 2013 National Centre for Early Music/Radio 3 Young Composers’ Award. Florilegium was founded by Solomon in 1991 and has a reputation for being one of this country’s finest period instrument ensembles.
The Baroque specialists have performed music by the likes of Bach, Vivaldi, Pergolesi as well as Bolivian artists, in prestigious venues throughout the world.
