Edinburgh International Festival: 2013 Queen’s Hall Series: Röschmann and Martineau
Dorothea Röschmann and Malcolm Martineau perform lieder by Schumann, Wolf and Berg
Dorothea Röschmann’s lieder interpretation has been described as ‘simply wonderful, soaring and expressive, blessed with a beautiful tone’ (International Record Review).
In this concert – part of the 2013 Queen’s Hall Series from the Edinburgh International Festival – the German soprano is joined by Edinburgh-born pianist Malcolm Martineau to perform songs from the romantic repertoire.
The programme starts with Schumann’s Liederkreis, Op. 39 and includes Wolf’s settings of Mörike poetry and Berg’s Seven Early Songs.
