The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols broadcast from King’s College, Cambridge is traditional listening for Christmas.

First aired in 1928, it now reaches the ears of millions of people worldwide on Christmas Day.

The service is broadcast live on Radio 4 and internationally on the world service on Christmas Eve and goes out on Radio 3 the following day. This year's service includes a new carol by Carl Vine using Alfred, Lord Tennyson's text 'Ring out, wild bells!'

Carols from King's is the annual televised service, recorded separately and with a different service from the Radio broadcast. Tune in to BBC Two at 6.15pm on Christmas Eve.
