Michael Tilson Thomas conducts the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Charles Ives’s Holidays Symphony.

Originally composed as separate pieces, the four movements – ‘Washington’s Birthday’, ‘Decoration Day’, ‘The Fourth of July’ and ‘Thanksgiving and Forefathers’ Day’ – are a journey through a year of American celebrations.

Expect spectacular orchestral fireworks in the ‘The Fourth of July’. Tune in to Sky Arts 2.
