Kathleen Ferrier: An ordinary Diva
A portrait of the great contralto
When international contralto Kathleen Ferrier died from breast cancer aged just 32 the music world was shocked, having recieved no news of her illness before this.
In her 14-year career, Ferrier worked with the likes of Benjamin Britten, Sir John Barbirolli and Bruno Walter, performing at Glyndebourne, Covent Garden and Carnegie Hall.
