London 2012 Festival, Opening Concert
Gustavo Dudamel conducts one of the largest outdoor classical music events ever held in Scotland
Celebrate the longest day of the year in the company of Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra as they mark the occasion with the launch of the London 2012 Festival – a nationwide arts festival marking the end of the four-year Cultural Olympiad. Host Kirsty Wark presents the outdoor concert, live from Stirling Castle, which also features musicians from Big Noise, a project aiming to transform the lives of young people. Expect music by Beethoven and Purcell, and celebratory fireworks to kick-start a summer holiday of exciting music and arts in the UK.
