Lunchtime Concert: South West Festivals
Music from festivals across the South West
In the first episode of a week of programmes celebrating music festivals in the South West, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly performs songs by Duparc from Tetbury Music Festival. Meanwhile, musicians from the International Musician’s Seminar at Prussia Cove bring Fauré’s Piano Quartet to Bristol.
Connolly’s selection of Duparc songs include the Chanson triste and Au pays où se fait la guerre and she is accompanied by pianist Joseph Middleton. The Fauré is performed by Krysia Osostowicz (violin), Oscar Perks (viola) and Steven Doane (cello), with Herbert Schuch on piano. Further concerts in the week also come from Devon’s Jurassic coast and feature musicians from the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
