Celebrities try their hand at conducting the orchestra of the Royal Opera House
Conducting an opera is a challenging task for even the most experienced of maestros, but what happens when a troupe of celebrities take to the podium? Actress Josie Lawrence, Oxford professor Marcus du Sautoy, DJ Trevor Nelson and Craig Revel Horwood of Strictly Come Dancing fame are competing to win the honour of conducting a full act at the Royal Opera House. This week, in the second instalment of the series, the fledgling conductors are put to the test once again as they direct the Jette Parker Young Artists and orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The musicians themselves are entrusted with making the all important decision: who should leave the competition?
