Indian composer A.R. Rahman is a superstar in his homeland, having outsold Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and George Michael. Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle presents an intriguing profile of Rahman, including an exclusive interview with the usually publicity-shy composer.

Rahman has been composing film scores for over 20 years, winning every major award in film music along the way.

However, he only gained global prominence with the extraordinary success of his score to Slumdog Millionaire – it won 15 awards including two Grammys, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.

This profile and interview provides a detailed insight into the life and work of the Indian superstar, with contributions from actors and composers associated with Rahman.
