BBC Radio 3 broadcasts Schoenberg’s unfinished opera, Moses and Aron, currently being staged by Welsh National Opera in its first UK performance since the 1960s.

English bass Sir John Tomlinson plays Moses with German tenor Rainer Trost portraying his brother Aron.

The libretto, written by Schoenberg after the Book of Exodus, follows the troubled relationship of the prophet with both his brother and his people after hearing the voice of God from the Burning Bush.

The production, which opened on the 24 May at WNO, has received four star reviews from the Guardian and the Telegraph. Click here to read our review of the production.
