Steuart BedfordThis year marks the centenary of one of the greatest British composers: Benjamin Britten. Throughout this year, Radio 3 will be broadcasting all of his operas and this week there’s a chance to hear Peter Grimes.

In a live broadcast from the opening night of the Aldeburgh Festival, tenor Alan Oke plays the lead role in a performance conducted by Steuart Bedford.

The Britten-Pears Orchestra performs with the choruses of Opera North and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Louise Fryer presents on Radio 3.
