Prom 24: British Light Music
Hear the BBC Proms live from the Royal Albert Hall
Barry Wordsworth conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra in an evening of popular British music. The programme brings together pieces that span a range of styles, from Arnold’s Four English Dances to a medley of BBC Radio signature tunes written by composer and arranger Gordon Langford.
With Elgar’s Nursery Suite and music by Coates and Walton composed for royal occasions, it promises to be a fun concert of light British classics. Noriko Ogawa and Kathryn Stott join the orchestra to perform Arnold’s Concerto for two pianos (three hands).
Presented by Petroc Trelawny and Ken Bruce.
