Petroc Trelawny presents the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and conductor James Macmillan live from the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai, as part of the orchestra’s major international tour.

The programme includes Mendelssohn’s Hebride’s Overture and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, as well as Mozart’s ‘Turkish’ fifth violin concerto performed by Nicola Benedetti.

As the concert goes on, Trelawny discusses the impact of western classical music in India, as well as the music education work undertaken as part of this tour. As part of this enrichment, some of the brightest and best young talent from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will have the opportunity to play alongside the BBC SSO.
