Under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski, the London Philharmonic Orchestra perform Mahler’s monumental Sixth Symphony. It's an astonishingly dark piece, so much so that its premiere is reported to have left the composer sobbing.

The symphony is preceded by the world premiere of James MacMillan’s Viola Concerto, commissioned by the LPO, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Bergen Philharmonic and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Lawrence Power is the soloist.
