Keith Lockhart conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra in a programme of music composed around the time of, and during, the First World War.

Soprano Nicole Cabell joins the orchestra to transport us to a tranquil evening in a Tennessee town during the first years of the war with Barber’s song cycle Knoxville Summer of 1915.

Also on the programme is Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, Debussy’s Berceuse héroïque, Janáček’s The Village Fiddler’s Child and Butterworth’s A Shropshire Lad and Bartók’s Dance Suite.
