BBC Scottish Orchestra presents an evening of music by Turina, Bernstein, Ravel and Tchaikovsky under guest conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya (left).

The concert opens with Joaquín Turina’s vibrant Danzas Fantásticas, followed by Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

During a 20-minute interval presenter Jamie MacDougall is joined by poet Don Paterson and they discuss classical settings of Robert Burns's poetry.

To open the second half, the orchestra invites Argentinian pianist Ingrid Fliter to perform Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G. The evening ends with Tchaikovsky's evocation of a Roman carnival in his Capriccio Italiano
