Louis Fryer launches the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra's three-day voyage through Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde.

Heard live from the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, the orchestra is conducted by Donald Runnicles and joined by soprano Nina Stemme as Isolde and tenor Ian Storey as Tristan.

The afternoon will also feature an excerpt from BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra’s new Stravinsky CD, conducted by Ilan Volkov, and Ildebrando Pizzetti’s A Lament performed by the BBC Singers and Paul Brough.

Tune in to BBC Radio 3 at the same time the following day for Act II and on Friday for Act III.
