A landmark series exploring Westminster Abbey.
This is the first episode in a three-part series that reveals the life behind the closed doors of Westminster Abbey. BBC Two has access to one of Britain’s most historic institutions and, through interviews with staff, explore the work to uphold its tradition and centrality to national life.
The first programme features the Dean of the Abbey, Reverend Dr. John Hall, who describes its history and it relationship with the monarchy. As well as seeing well-known faces attending services – including Rufus Wainwright and Hugh Masekela – we gain an insight into the lives of choristers who attend the Abbey’s choir school.
