Tue, 2013-06-25 20:00All Creatures Great and Small | VoxceteraJane Hopkins, Magnus Gilljam, VoxceteraSt Peter-in-Chains London N8 9AEUnited Kingdom
Sweet sounds for a Tuesday evening - one hour, and just a fiver. Join the popular Voxcetera choir for short pieces, both sacred and secular, selected around the loose theme of the natural world. As well as the works listed there will be music from Bob Chilcott and others - more to be announced.
Voxcetera was formed in 2009, and has performed music ranging from Tudor anthems to works written this century. The choir returns for this concert following a tour to Southern Germany. Recent performances include a packed-out Fauré's Requiem at St Sepulchres-without-Newgate, "the musicians' church" and the choir has recorded for Silva Screen and the BBC.
"The sixteen voices that make up Voxcetera have only been together since autumn 2009 but their programme, delivered to an appreciative audience of 300 souls on a wintry Tuesday evening, showed a maturity and enthusiasm that must demand more outings in the new year.... I was entranced by Voxcetera’s ability to engage with the audience as they delivered so many standards... The entire evening put a spring in my step" Dave Winskill, Ham & High, October 2012.
