A railway station in Devon is the unusual venue for some solo Bach performances this month when cellist Guy Johnston, violinist Tai Murray and others perform at Tiverton Parkway Station.

On 15 October Tai Murray will perform JS Bach’s Partita in B minor in the station’s ticket office at 11.30am – just in time for anyone waiting to catch the 11.37 to the North. Every day until 19 October, passengers will be treated to a bit of Bach from musicians including lutist Elizabeth Kenny and cellist Jing Zhao.

The concerts are part of the Two Moors Festival. ‘It’s not so whacky a location as one might think,’ says artistic director, Penny Adie. ‘The Ticket Office boasts excellent acoustics.’

The concerts are free and take place each day, 15-19 October, at 11.30am. Visit the festival’s website for more details.
